Appreciating the dialogue that results from an incongruous combination of objects within an environment, I would take the Borsani console and pair it with Contenotte floor tiles. Both objects exhibit marbling but to different ends; the floor is interactive – seemingly moving under foot – creating a mysterious and ever changing landscape while the natural green marble of the console is robust and luxuriant. Extending the freeform theme of the setting, I would include the abstract photograph by Michael Smith and to add discipline, I would include the Art Deco andirons by Jules Bouy with their structured decorative pattern. The Allard settee and the Koch and Lowy table lamp, alluding to the machine age with their tubular forms, place the final touches for this distinct interior.
